Without a novel experience which is related to dopamine we hit our baseline and crash. Your brain has been flooded with constant dopamine for some of us over a decade. You’re searching for a game that will replace your entire life and that game sadly does not exist. You now have a bland experience of grinding and guess what all those problems in your life, the depression, etc haven’t actually gone anywhere. ![]() However what is also definitely occurring is the dopamine high of getting a new game is starting to wear off. It’s possible and quite likely that the game is lacking end game content and “meaningful” systems. You’ll kill the same monsters and get another level or a gear upgrade after hours of grinding but something feels missing. Having the great feeling of leveling to torment and completing renown.Īll of a sudden however you realize it all feels pointless. If you’re like me you played diablo 4 for a good week.
